GPUG.ca – Guelph PHP Users Group

This month Joël Perras will be our guest speaker. He’ll be presenting to us on NoSQL databases and Map Reduce.

This month Kevin Bond will be giving us an introduction to Symfony 2. Come and find out how to leverage the power of this full stack PHP framework when building your own applications.

Our speaker this month will be Colin DeCarlo of Freshbooks. He’ll be talking about using Liquibase to manage database migrations as well as how the tool can be integrated with continuous integration to set us easy, painless and reversible database changes.

Our speaker this month will be Sean Yo. He’ll be presenting on why, how and when you might want to use Apache server side includes. We’ll also have our usual mix of socialising and food.

Our guest speaker this month will be Marco Tabini, the publisher of PHPArchitect and organiser of the Tek and CodeWorks conferences. He’ll be talking about approaches to refactoring code.

Our meeting this month will take place on February 29th. Our guest speaker for this month, Joël Perras, has had to postpone until a later date and we’re open to ideas for speakers/topics! Come and join us for the third meeting of the Guelph PHP User Group. This month Mark Story, a developer with Freshbooks and a lead contributor to CakePHP, will be our guest speaker and he’ll be presenting on using Jenkins CI.
